With the exception of cushions, wicker and rattan furniture is durable, and can easily stay outside all year round if you live in a warmer climate. However to maximumise its life it is best to keep it out of the worst weather conditions (especially lots of rain) and remember that too much direct sunlight will take its toll.

But it's best to  maintain wicker furniture and it will keep it in the best possible condition .

Dry wicker will split, so check regularly if its been in bright sunlight & wipe down with a damp cloth

 When choosing outdoor chairs try to find one that takes the weight off of your posterior and distributes it more to your lower back
